Big, Bold, and (Almost) Finished: AQ Books Rebrand

You may have noticed things look a little… louder around here. That’s not an accident.

Welcome to the new AQ Books—a full rebrand that reflects who we actually are: unapologetic, bold, a little chaotic, and entirely ours. From the metallic orange that pops off the page to imprint logos that finally match the personalities behind them (yes, Bulldog Books got the diva treatment it deserved), this rebrand is about stepping into our next chapter with intention.

Why the change? Simple: we outgrew the old skin. Our CEO never loved the hot neon pink—it blended too neatly into the wider LGBTQ+ book world. He wanted something that didn’t just nod quietly in the corner, but something that screamed. Metallic orange does exactly that. It refuses to hide. It demands to be noticed. It’s unapologetic.

Now, full transparency: if you click around long enough, you might stumble across a stray pink box, a stubborn font that refuses to change, or a page that hasn’t gotten the full polish yet. That’s not sloppiness—it’s the price of moving fast and refusing to wait until everything’s perfect before we step into the light. (Perfection is boring anyway.)

Consider this your official invitation to poke around, see what’s new, and maybe catch us mid-transition. Think of it like walking through a house we’re still painting while the party’s already started. You’ll survive, and honestly—it’s more fun this way.

So: welcome to AQ Books, rebranded, unapologetic, and only getting louder from here.

A Note from the CEO, August Quinn

I’ll be blunt: pink was never me. It’s everywhere in queer publishing, and while I respect that space, I didn’t want to blend in. I wanted AQ Books to feel like it kicked the door down and said, “You’re going to hear us whether you meant to or not.”

Metallic orange is that voice. It’s bold. It’s brash. It’s impossible to scroll past without stopping. That’s exactly how I want our books—and our authors—to live in the world.

We’re not here to whisper. We’re here to scream. And we’re just getting started.

—August Quinn, CEO
