A Little Different

Most of you know me through August Quinn.

That’s where I’ve told a lot of stories over the years.

Twenty-six books. Different voices. Different angles.

But always the same thread running underneath.

That part was never separate.

There’s a certain kind of distance a name can give you.

Not to hide.

Not to pretend.

Just enough space to say things clearly before you’re ready to stand next to them.

That’s what August Quinn has always been.

A voice with room to move.

But not every story needs that distance.

Some sit closer.

Closer to where things actually happened.

Closer to the version of you that doesn’t get rewritten on the way out.

Closer to truth—without the buffer.

This next one…

doesn’t have that distance.

It’s not louder.

It’s not bigger.

It’s just… more direct.

Some stories can be told from a distance.

This one couldn’t.

More soon.
